Rules for Using Mission (Maitreya's) Materials
It is inevitable that Maitreya's Teachings and Mission materials will be quoted and referenced by others in writings and creative works. Any use of Mission materials must follow the rules on this page.
In using Maitreya's Teachings, do not connect people to yourself, and do not mix or confuse your own words/ideas with Mission Words/Teachings (which are from God). Always connect people to the Mission and Maitreya, not to yourself!
Here are the rules:
- Add the Mission website to any work you do. You can do this once or multiple times in your presentations; put the Mission URL in a visible and accessible part of the work.
- Place the following statement at the top or on a prominent place of every work: "This is an unofficial disciple work based on the teachings of the Mission of Maitreya: www.maitreya.org. Anything not quoted is not directly from the Teachings of Maitreya and are my own ideas. As I am not a Prophet of God, my words should be taken with caution. To know the Words of God, visit the website (www.maitreya.org) and follow what has come directly from God and His Prophet (Maitreya). I follow the rules for using Mission materials: www.maitreya.org/outreachrules."
- Clearly mark all quotes from Maitreya's writings. The most common way to do this is using quotation marks.
- Provide specific and consistent citations to every quote used. An easy way to do this is to follow an accepted citation style such as APA or MLA.
- Do not use Mission materials out of context from the original Source.
- Respect the Mission's intellectual property. All Mission materials are protected by intellectual property law, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret as applicable.
- "Master the Teachings, be watchful and fight to preserve the Purity of the Teachings at all costs. As the Prime Directive in the Mission (Maitreya) says: Create an environment that promotes Godliness (egolessness), an environment that brings the focus of man back to Spirit and the Goal of Life [To be(come) Divine, or be Godly, Pure, etc.]! Keeping the Mission Godly and Pure is our first and Most Sacred directive on which all other directives hang." - Maitreya (www.maitreya.org)
NOTE: These rules are not just for writings but should be applied as much as reasonably possible to any Mission-inspired work (speeches, videos, creative projects, etc.). The paramount concern is acknowledging the Source!
